Rawai Beach is an ideal place to pick up a boat to the many off-shore islands. Just walk along the beach and look for one of the many boat drivers that are waiting by their signs. The boat drivers are easily identified by their t-shirts which also has their boat number printed on the front.
The best form of local transport is the long-tail boat however speed boats are available but are more expensive.
